Parenting for Protesters and Counter-Protesters

Parents are shouting in the streets about how to educate our children,

“Don’t let our kids self-identify! Push them back to us!”

“But it’s not safe, and they live in fear!”

Like a coin flipping… we see both sides.

“It can’t be the kids; it must be the schools.”

Why have we left this to our schools?

“We want to teach them the Truth! We, as parents, are sovereign until they are 18. Not our schools and definitely not the kids alone. The schools are corrupting our youth.”

And we slowly prepare the hemlock, to deliver a poison to a scapegoat which is best drank by a whole generation.

AS IF the perversion was about the Truth, and not about Love. This issue in schools resides in the hearts of each child and in the perphirated walls of our homes. It is time to fix the cracks and holes of our homes.

On this principle, I thee parent, to hold this truth to be self-evident:

That you, my child, shall become who you are, and that, in gracious love, I will nurture and protect you in your process of self-definition. I will provide the rebar and foundation as you are built up, and from which you carve out your authentic identity you proudly claim as your own. I vow to remember: I am not creating myself; Instead, I am offering space for you to co-create yourself. The truth shall emerge out of you, come hell or high-water. And in doing so, I return again to my part: That I will hold you to account for being anything but the wonderous gift you are, and stand in the way of any threat to you who is created in God’s image. Amen.
